Morning Prayer
There is no physical law that has any reality to operate through my personality to harm me, to separate me from my true spiritual being in the Truth, to separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus, to separate me from harmony.
I have no belief that matter, brain, can control, derange, or confuse my thought, or can suffer or cause suffering in the Truth, in Life, in Love.
Look away from body to Spirit. My being is spiritual, my life, my intelligence, are spiritual; my senses are spiritual; my life is hid with Christ in God, and there is no other existence.

Daily Watch
380 — WATCH lest you be found wishing and praying for human prosperity. Our work and prayer should be for sonship, that we may be faithful to the demands of sonship; then we will manifest the effects of sonship. We can say, “Dear Father-Mother God, I want Thy will to be done. If human prosperity is necessary as an evidence of my reflection of Thee, since Thou art all-abundance, then I will accept it; but my prayer is for less matter and more Spirit.”
Human prosperity, if it means an abundance of the very thing that we are striving to put off in Science, namely, the belief in matter, will be a hindrance to growth. Would a metaphysician be found praying for an increase in that which is the opposite — the enemy — of God? Let us pray for sonship. Then divine wisdom will furnish us with all the fruits of sonship in every wise way.

In “Miscellaneous Writings” on page 180-181, Mrs Eddy writes,
The Scriptures speak of Jesus as the Son of God and the Son of man; but Jesus said to call no man father; “for one is your Father,” even God.
“Is man’s spiritual sonship a personal gift to man, or is it the reality of his being, in divine Science? Man’s knowledge of this grand verity gives him power to demonstrate his divine Principle, which in turn is requisite in order to understand his sonship, or unity with God, good.” … His sonship, referred to in the text, is his spiritual relation to Deity: it is not, then, a personal gift, but is the order of divine Science. The apostle urges upon our acceptance this great fact. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.”

When you intelligently claim your present sonship with the Eternal, you begin to awake to the man of His creating, and the tottering mortal that physical sense proclaims begins to dissolve and fade out. Then you begin to find in yourself the health and strength and ability the Almighty equips you with.
Give up error to God. Ask for our daily bread, enough for today. A child with its mother does not ask all the time if it will have clothing tomorrow or next week, but runs along happy and trusts its mother’s care. So must we do. Have that trust in the one Father-Mother God, and without fear.

Luke 15:31
And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
Let me tell you something for your encouragement. The one who has met the most and conquered it, is the nearest heaven, harmony. … Never allow error (the use of medicines) to be used indirectly, not merely from fear that they injure your patient, for they have no virtue, but for the reason that God would not get all the glory of the healing.

5. 315 : 11-24
The opposite and false views of the people hid from their sense Christ’s sonship with God. They could not discern his spiritual existence. Their carnal minds were at enmity with it. Their thoughts were filled with mortal error, instead of with God’s spiritual idea as presented by Christ Jesus. The likeness of God we lose sight of through sin, which beclouds the spiritual sense of Truth; and we realize this likeness only when we subdue sin and prove man’s heritage, the liberty of the sons of God.
Jesus’ spiritual origin and understanding enabled him to demonstrate the facts of being, — to prove irrefutably how spiritual Truth destroys material error, heals sickness, and overcomes death.
You will never fear again except to offend God, and you will never believe that heart or any portion of the body can destroy you.

Jesus proved his faith in this way. It is not only to dispel aches and pains, but to heal the sin — mental suggestions, that would try to turn your thought from the truth of being; make you think you cannot heal; are afraid to try; that your work can be reversed, can relapse; that Christian Science is mesmerism, etc. To believe a lie, is sin. You know those suggestions are all lies. Then it is a sin to believe them. Heal the sin. You cannot be made to yield to such a belief. You know better. You are in Mind alone, and the so-called claims of matter cannot touch you, cannot make you an avenue, through which to reach any one in belief. You are a child of God, reflecting Him. Nothing can force you to believe differently. It is now that Truth is — not going to be. Destroy the sense of time. … We must see the nothingness of mortal belief of health, and see true health — wholeness, which is always the same. You, and all, reflect it. Keep your lamps trimmed and burning, ready to give light at any call.”

When an error appears in our world, it is mental malpractice being uncovered as our conscious or unconscious thought, and is a demand upon us to heal ourselves only, and we do this at our individual point of consciousness.
There is only one way to meet this rule of sin. Would we entertain a guest that was spoiling our house? Now, instead of entertaining the guest that says, “You cannot heal! old beliefs are re-established; you feel your patient’s beliefs, etc.,” it is your duty to eject this guest at once. No man can enter into a strong man’s house and spoil his goods except he first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. You can make your house — the body — just what the mind is. The discouragement brought to you, you are able to expel as an unwelcome guest. This is the ground on which all must work. Watch just what your thoughts are, and labor there until success greets your efforts. If you think you haven’t time to attend to it, say I have; or if you think you need help, prove it otherwise. There is no one who can help you like yourself. There are no conditions hindering. They are only what you admit. Whenever you take this position you go up higher.

Mind is supreme; and yet we make more of matter, and lean upon it for health and life. Mind, that governs the universe, governs every action of the body as directly as it moves a planet and controls the muscles of the arm. God grant that the trembling chords of human hope shall again be swept by the divine Talitha cumi, “Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.” Then shall Christian Science again appear, to light our sepulchres with immortality. We thank our Father that to-day the uncremated fossils of material systems, already charred, are fast fading into ashes; and that man will ere long stop trusting where there is no trust, and gorging his faith with skill proved a million times unskilful.

Chapter IV Healing:
“[An article by Mrs. Eddy entitled “Demonstration”]; I have learned a great secret, I have learned how to demonstrate, I have learned how to make Science a thing of life and not of words. I am going to tell you what the secret is, and it is wonderful. It is this; Not to see or hear or repeat any kind of imperfection. It is seeing and hearing and repeating good only, at all times and all circumstances, and in spite of everything that appears to the contrary.
I make this resolve every morning when I first open my eyes, and I renew it every hour of the day. I see perfection in myself, in my friends, and in my so-called enemy, in my affairs, and in world affairs.
I take my radical stand for the perfection of God and for everything and everybody He has created. I look upon the world with God’s eyes, and I see it just as He sees it, and I refuse to see it in any other way.
I stop a dozen times a day, and renew the resolve, and make sure that I am not repeating error or giving way to criticism. I watch my thoughts about people, the lame, the old, the unloved to sense that I pass in the street, stray animals, I except nothing.
I have taken my radical stand for perfection and I will not, absolutely will not, relax this perfect standard.
The result has been simply marvelous. Try it and you will find that you forget your glasses; they will become unnecessary.
You will be seeing with God’s eyes, His perfect sight, and you will behold a perfect universe, the outward condition of your inward thinking. To change the picture you must change the sight that produced the picture.”

Declaring that Jesus is worshiped to-day, not because he was virgin-born, nor because he was raised from the dead, but because of the Godlike life which he taught and exemplified, Dr. Henry C. Culbertson, pastor of the Mesa Congregational Church, in a sermon from the Times broadcasting station said that it is possible for the ideal of the Master to be realized in every human heart. Preaching on “We Gods,” Dr. Culbertson spoke in part as follows: “Every era since the time of Jesus has been marked by the recovering of some overlooked truth in his teachings, and the quickening of human society in response to that truth. It has been said, ‘The disciples of Jesus were devoted to his person, but his gospel never penetrated their minds.’ They loved him, but they caught only glimmerings of the great ideas he was striving to convey. The Carpenter of Nazareth saw all the world in terms of his own great heart of love. Where others thought of God as a mighty king, rewarding the righteous and executing vengeance upon the wicked, Jesus thought of God as a great Father, making the sun rise and the rain fall on both the evil and the good, loving all mankind even as a tender-hearted parent loves all of his children. No other person who ever trod this planet has been so vividly conscious of God as this Carpenter. He thought of God as his own Father; and he entered so deeply into this relationship that he declared, ‘I and my Father are one.’ Jesus not only thought of God as his own Father, but he longed to bring all men into a conscious realization of the same experience. . . . Let us get back . . . to the simple, supreme message of Jesus! The Carpenter-Poet-Prophet of Nazareth is revered among us to-day, not primarily because he was born of a virgin or raised from the dead, not because he was a Jew or an Asiatic, nor because of the mighty ecclesiastic hierarchies and complicated theological systems that have been erected about his name, but because in his life are revealed both the character of God and the infinite possibilities of our human lives. The greatest of all the forgotten truths of Jesus’ teaching is that his consciousness of God as his Father should be shared by every man. He is the way, the truth, and the life because he shows the only type of life through which man can become like our heavenly Father. He sets up an infinite goal before us when he bids us be perfect even as our heavenly Father is perfect.”
